Decision to Blog

Well here it is. In an attempt to chronicle my training and progress for my 2nd ½ marathon on October 3 I have decided to blog. I am hoping that continually blogging will help me stay motivated to train hard and keep motivated. My goal is to finish my ½ marathon in 2 hours in 15 minutes (roughly a 10:10 pace) which will be an improvement of 30 minutes from the ½ marathon I did in March of 2008. 10:10 is considered a slow pace to all those hard core runners out there, but it seems to suit me for now. On 8/8 I begin group training with Fleet Feet which is a group I have trained with in the past. They are a great bunch of people who really take the time train people to run their best. So here goes!

About me: I am a 29 year old former chef who now sits behind a desk all day slaving away for the State of California. I live in Sacramento with my amazing boyfriend of 5 years Matt. I began running 2 years ago in an attempt to lose some extra weight I had put on from a medication I had taken. Having played soccer for 12 years previously I always hated running, but once (pardon the pun) I found my stride I found a deep love of running. Running is a major stress relief for me, and something I will do the rest of my life. After every run, whether it is 1 mile or 6, I still feel amazed that I did it! I have done 1 ½ marathon a bunch of 5K’s but I am ready to transition to more distance races with the ultimate goal of running a marathon in the next year.

So welcome to my blog about running and life.
